The Kosha’s
Sunday 1st July, 7pm – 9pm
One of the main aims in Yoga is to establish a connection between the mind, the body, the breath, wisdom and spirit. If this connection can be achieved, then we can be in harmony.
According to the Taitirriya Upanishads; we are comprised of 5 subtle layers (sheaths) of energy / Koshas around our spiritual centre. These Koshas are thought to provide us the key to understanding the self that exists within our core, the self that is always there. This is also known as Atman or Brahman, the Supreme Soul. The understanding of this concept helps guide us to a place of harmony and peace.
The koshas are energetic layers or sheaths that move from the outermost layer of skin to the deep spiritual core. They are meant to provide a framework for conceptualizing ourselves and the layers come packaged with their own individual physiological function and psychology.
If you want to know more and have some practical experience of connecting to these layers through asana, breath and meditation then please join me for what I hope will be an informative, fun and experimental workshop.
