‘You’ll never get bored when you try something

‘You’ll never get bored when you try something new , there’s no limit to what you can do’ ~ Dr Seuss I can’t tell you how many times I hear from my non yoga practicing friends, acquaintances, people I meet on the street how they can’t do yoga because they can’t touch their toes! It amazes me that we as adults think that we need to be good at something before actually practicing the thing that would make us good at it. As someone with young children I see this same sort of attitude in them sometimes. They love to do the things they find easy and if it’s too hard there is often a bit of a tantrum or a quick need to give up …. BUT how would any of us become good at anything if that was the common attitude. How would the world keep working, how would things get invented, how would we cure illness and disease, how would we save animals, how would we have started flying. These were all things that people didn’t know how to do but or practiced, put time and effort in to and eventually something was created. Now i’m not saying yoga is as important as any of the above but I do believe yoga is an amazing tool to help us live and support us in this day and age. It’s not about touching your toes and it never will be. It’s the journey, it’s the connection, it’s the acceptance, it’s the dedication, it’s the changing your mindset, its the letting go of what you don’t need, it’s the self care - it’s the little drops of wisdom and self realisation that you may not even realise is happening while your on your way down to them. If you are unsure as to whether or not yoga is for you or you have been thinking about attending but feeling nervous let me just say that ‘Yoga is for EVERYBODY and EVERY BODY.’ #yoga

Join myself & @naked_birth for our upcoming #pregnancyyoga & #hypnobirthing workshop #inperson #eastfinchley This workshop is designed to give birth mama and their birth partner the tools they need to create a positive and supported birth experience. This workshop will contain information and techniques for both mum and partner to support all stages of labour. It will include a brief look at what is happening physiologically but will mostly focus on yoga, massage & hypnobirthing tools that will assist through each stage. The aim is to help you but mostly prepare your partner to support you ‘mama’ in the birth by keeping you relaxed, supported and loved while staying grounded and calm. This workshop will include: 🤰🏾 Information about the three stages of labour and positions ideal for each stage
🧘🏽‍♀️ Yoga movements and breath work for mama to be that will assist in the first stage of labour
🫄 Hypnobirthing tools for 1st and 2nd stage
How to manage 3rd stage and options
💆‍♀️ Massage techniques that can be used to help with contractions as well as the moments in between to help mama really relax.

❤️Give your partner insight into how a woman’s body works in labour, so they can be more effective and confident in the ways they support you

11AM – 11:45AM (STILL AVAILABILITY) Age: 4- 9 Years old (and a little bit either side) Yoga has so many benefits that can be incorporated into a child’s development by giving them tools that will help them understand the elusive workings of their body and mind, through Asana’s (postures), breathing, voice work and relaxation helping them to become more confident and focused. Using yoga in a child’s life will help them to concentrate longer and discipline their minds to conquering overexcitement and hyperactivity, and you will notice a difference in the attention and focus of a child before and after a yoga session. My approach to yoga for children is to encourage it as a form of play, by creating stories to help guide the children through the poses and letting them use their imagination in how to accomplish them. Hello 👋 I thought I would say a quick hi and let you know a little bit about me and this page x grateful for the love 💓 My name is sunnah and I have been teaching yoga since 2002 🙂 yes a very long time 😂 I teach general yoga to adults. I don’t have a particular style and have studied with various teacher, styles over the years - this way my teaching has evolved and means I am not boxed in to only doing things one way. I specialise in Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga - this has given me the privilege of meeting and supporting women through some amazingly joyous moments of their life. Not to mention hang out with lots of cutie babies 👶 My partner thinks I am a workaholic! He is right, I love love love teaching yoga. I am still amazed at how transformational a practice it can be for people Someone once said that an average student life is 2 years. I am happy to say that I have quite a few students that have been with me much longer then that and some I would even call amazing friends - which means that yoga weekend and retreats can feel like brilliant holidays with mates. ‘Your vibe attracts your tribe’ I love yoga and love teaching it (yes I said this before) - I currently teach the BWY Foundation Course and the BWY Teacher Trainer which is immense and blowing my mind. It took me a very long time to feel confident enough to do this but so far I love it 🥰 I have been self employed as a yoga teacher most of my working life, which some days can be a weight on my shoulders but most of the time creates the most amazing opportunities It may not translate in the amount of likes that my posts generate (basically not many!) but I am living proof that what you see on social media isn’t always the truth!!! I can’t be the judge of my teaching (I will let my students decide that) but am proud of the business I have built over years of hard work, perseverance and showing up. Yoga through the years ❤️I spoke recently about my Menopause Yoga course and I have been sitting with a conversation that I had at the end of the session. 💃🏼One of the ladies attending spoke with me at the end and mentioned how long she had been coming to my classes. 🤰🏾 While she is not a full on regular at my sessions she started over 15 years ago by doing a Groupon Voucher with me (Never again btw) and started attending regular weekly sessions after that until she got pregnant at which point she came to my pregnancy classes. I then taught her with her baby in the postnatal sessions - and now after a little break, her child is 11 years old and she now has come to menopause yoga. What opposite ends of the spectrum but also how amazing that this practice can support us wherever we are in our life. What’s the next phase? Just awaiting one of those babies from my postnatal sessions to start yoga with me and then I know we have turned a full cycle. #yoga

Recently one of my regular students, who is amazingly vocal and informative about her journey through the menopause came to tell me about her recent experience with a physio in regards to her pelvic floors.
‘Can you believe it but it’s all yoga poses’ she said to me. ‘Every exercise is what we do in yoga’
The fact is I can believe it!!!! The more I research this time in a woman’s life the more I am so grateful that I have such a supportive practice like yoga.
Not just my ability to move but also the many other techniques that don’t always have a lot of time spent on them – like the breath work, the meditation practices, pelvic floor work, restorative yoga, the encouragement to work with our bodies in both a functional and also relaxing way – practices that help physically, mentally and emotionally.
I know that attending a yoga class regularly definitely helps and is hugely beneficial but I also know that we don’t get to spend much time working specifically on what is needed at this time….. SO……. I have decided to wrap it up in a neat little practical 4 week course for you – for all of you, whether you are menopausal, pre, peri or post.
